Excavation and Truck Haulage

Contractors have started the initial earthworks, including trimming and preparing the required working platforms. During this stage, excavated sand will be removed from site, resulting in increased truck movements. As levels are reached, gravel will be delivered and compacted using vibrating plates.

Exposed sand batters will be wrapped in fabric to reduce wind-blown sand. The builder will monitor any sand or dirt tracked outside the site and will regularly clean the surrounding roadways. Sprinklers are also being used to wet down exposed areas to further minimise wind-blown sand.
