The hotel project is progressing well with the first section of the Level 3 slab poured this week. Level 3 at the Banksia Ave end of the site, makes up the hotel entrance, lobby/porte-cochère and retail level. Generally, the slab pours are being broken up into manageable parcels of approximately 600 – 700m2, however there is a much larger unavoidable slab pour approaching shortly, which we will provide more information about in due course.
Meanwhile, Level 2 has progressed up to the central part of the site, and the Level 1 (basement) is about 75% complete, with the Day Spa floor slab now being prepared. As the construction progress moves into the more complex areas, there is far greater coordination required with services and structural design. The pool contractor will commence shortly to make a start on the various low level treatment pools which will form part of the Day Spa inclusions.
Presently the target is to achieve Levels 1 & 2 concrete slab completion, 50% of Level 3 completion and the commencement of Level 4 slab by the Christmas break.
